So a top chinese diplomat said that China was ready to Nuke the US if it got involed in a Taiwan/Chinese conflict, which would probably ending up screwing over the US because then they would have to withdraw all their troops from Iraq and send them to Afghanistan to they can get into China. I think that area of the world is spiraling down right now... If China Nuked the US, the world is screwed, do u think China has the guts to ruin the planet?

Where'd you get that tasty little nugget? I'm interested in your sources on that one, cuz thems big wheels a turnin'. I guess I haven't had the television on in the last couple of days, but you'd think that if China had said something like that there would have been a bit of a fuss made about it. My money is on Fox news; cook up some bullnuts and throw it in north america's face to get them riled up. Chances are, old j. christ has got something to do with it too... america is gunning for those commie bastards, but the general population might need some persuading. Hence these 'threats'...

i think that the 'administration' is really starting to realize that the real threat to u.s. hegemony is not some islamic terrorists (though the oil that's underneath them is plays a huge role in their plans for global domination), but the threat of advanced chinese economy, which they've already got a huge trade deficit, not to mention a huge bulk of american manufacturing, and lets not forget that they have not only the biggest population, but the fastest growing middle class (along with india). My suspcions are not that the administration is worried about a military intervention, but the possibility of a new super power (ala soviet union) which doesn't need to back down to the u.s. (both for military and economic reasons). IN many ways then, the goal of securing almost total military control of worlds oil supply (there are u.s. troops in all the major oil countries...except venezuela....) is a way of controlling the chinese economy which has not signed on to the kyoto, and whose oil consumption will no doubt exceed america's within the next couple years. so lets recap the u.s fears the rise of another major military/economic super power, i think they have some genuine fear, but also i think if this was reported on cnn, there' probably a fair bit of scaremongering involved, though terrorism is surely still good for that, nothing says cold war like the threat of a nuclear engagement with a bunch of commies....that's my bit
